ONE
He did it, he survived his first year.
Samuel had a wonderful birthday, with many friends of his, ours and family visiting him. We had wonderful sunny weather with moderate temperatures. We were so busy we didn't take many pictures, but he was a psyched boy. So busy he didn't nurse all day, or take a nap until 4 in the pm.
We had great grandma, uncle avery, uncle mike, joan, ali, pete, uncle aaron, autie anners, maggie, luke, auntie caitrin, ahna, aunt nancy, niclas, great grammy, aunt sarah and uncle jonah, mary and samantha, molly and kaitlin, hannah, chris and ava, mark and kit, j.d. and lindsay, otto and marge, lynda and anna, grandpa doug and audrey, grandpa bill and i think that's it...
we wish we had ru, sally, grandmanana, michelle, christian, heather, matt, adam, evan
He did receive his first "black" eye and a big scrape next to his eye the morning after, along with our discovery of a burn from his birthday on his finger...
sam didn't go crazy with the cake, i think that he was tired, but he did eat some of it. he had a huge blowup castle filled with balls that he loved. he enjoyed playing with boxes almost as much as his toys and it was said that his mama was more psyched with his new stuff than he was.
thomas the train was the hit, along with the huge bunch of balloons that sarah and jonah picked up.
the potty is the new favorite, as you can see, sitting on it, standing on it and putting EVERYTHING, including pjs in the "bowl". (courtesy of caitrin and ahna).
we wrote him a poem and it is in his book for him to read later, you can as well if you ask.
samuel is the brightest part of my everyday and i cannot believe how a child created with someone you love can fill you with love.
