Sam's first fever of 102

Sam and I are home today because of the fever. It is a beautiful, sunny, chilly day so far. Mike is at a conference. Sam is definitely into being held today more than usual, and less talkative. He is saying momma, dada, do, all du (all done), na na when he is hungry, panting when he wants to nurse and is starting to mimic sounds like the mooing of a cow, the baaing of a sheep and more....
His walking is ever improving, he is now walking between places in the house and will turn and walk to me or mike when he feels like it.
He is reading books by himself now, in addition to with us, looking at the pages and talking...
Sam is the man- he had his first tongue kiss with Maggie at Hannah and Chris' dinner party Saturday night....

Sam Walks!

Sam walked Wednesday, it was amazing to see him put it all together. He walks back and forth between us, and lurches for a big hug at the end.
The pat a cake clapping has also been extremely cute. Tonight he climbed the stairs, all the way to the top on his own- watch out!
As you can see, dada reads to him too, though I have memorized most of his favorite books already... over and over and over we read them. mike is the ball guy with him, trying to teach him to throw forward instead of on top of his head or behind him.. over and over and over...

dada and mama are known words it seems. he is learning to wave and has his signals for done and up and i think i saw eat yesterday.
the broom is his current favorite toy, along with "petting" the cats very, very hard.

mad river is his favorite hang out, especially the upstairs lodge and trolling for smiles in the purple sled outside, waving with mom's big gloves on...

March 2nd

Three posts in one week!

He is making so many more sounds, and truly has found his voice. he is calling and responding and says da da at very appropriate times! We had a home day today as it snowed like crazy. we will hopefully go out this pm to play in the snow. little man is sleeping right now, a current photo is enclosed.

i love my vacations so i can watch him change and grow. i don't know if the walking will happen this break, but soon. we are looking forward to lots of skiing this weekend, and a run in the new snow. sam hung with mark and kit yesterday afternoon, and ava, and had lots of fun. they had to pull him in the tobaggon to get him to sleep, then let him snooze in the mud room after laying him flat and carrying him on a "stretcher".

we had a mini playgroup yesterday with Ava and Samantha (and Hannah and Mary). There is a picture of Samantha and Sam, she is a month older....

Dad came home to play at lunch, you can see Sam's reaction in the photo. Also is a picture of his new toybox. It should look familiar, he likes to lean over and pull big toys out.

moms and pops (us) are land owners officially today. can't wait to pay the taxes! we are going to ski to the land and make our mark of some sort this afternoon.
